This weekend the 2019 Pirelli MX Nationals will be wrapped up over a huge two days at the Coolum pines circuit.

Coming off a short round 8 in Moree last weekend, Regan Duffy has again stretched his points lead, and is heading into the final back to back rounds this weekend with confidence and excitement.

 

Duffy who is competing in his first year in the senior rankings is looking at wrapping up his first Australian senior championship title in the MXD class, Regan has had an extremely successful year to date, having the championship points lead since round 2 in Wonthaggi.

 

Regan Duffy who is from Western Australia is well suited to the tracks terrain and believes he has what it takes to be standing on the top of the podium this Sunday.

 

“I’m stoked the final two rounds are at Coolum, being from Western Australia, i’ve always rode in the sand and feel most comfortable with that sort of terrain, a huge thanks to the team for helping me get to this position” said Duffy

 

 

Hayden Mellross is coming into this weekend proving his determination and strength is above and beyond, last weekend at Moree Hayden had a minor crash in practise that saw him sustain a completely torn ACL, meniscus and fracture to the top of his fibular with this being said Hayden still managed to get back on the bike and compete in the moto and pushed through to get a very respectful 11th.

 

Mellross had a choice this weekend to race or rest up, the decision Mellross said was easy, he will push on to finish the remained of the 2019 championship, Mellross who currently sits 3rdin the championship is determined to finish the season strong and bring home a good result for himself and the team, Mellross needs to stay in the top 10 for each moto over the weekend to ensure himself a spot on the podium come Sunday afternoon, Mellross is feeling strong within himself and feels like the Coolum circuit will suit him and his injury this weekend being able to stay on his toes in.
